Regina About Town

One of my favorite places in 32217 is Sweet Repeats Consignment Shop.  I do not love shopping at the mall one bit.  Sweet Repeats is so close to home in Lakewood, with ample parking and friendly faces.  I find a wonderful array of stylish, high end clothing at a fraction of the cost.  I buy everything from jeans to a wedding appropriate cocktail dress for every season of the year.  I have even found  cool jewelry, designer handbags, and shoes there. The owner is super friendly an always keeps her eyes open for new things that come in that I might like.

The Local: Miramar/San Marco-I kept running by, anxiously awaiting for this to open up, as we need more dining options close to home...........and we can walk here! Finally, we went for dinner on Friday night, and I can tell The Local is going to be one of our favorites. Casual, yet fresh, interesting menu options at various price points.......order at the counter. I had a delicious, huge salad with arugula and tons of fresh veggies, and Bill had a sandwich. We visited with the owners, a few local millenials, and talked about their vision for this new spot. We will definitely be back soon and often.

Mexican food:  I love Mexican Food! Our weeknight standard is La Nopalera in San Marco. The new building is a very cool, renovated train station. The chips/salsa are the best, and the entrees are a great value. I especially love the Tacos Al Pastore and Fajitas. The new Burrito Gallery in Brooklyn Station is a great restaurant, I love the upstairs open air section with views and occasional breezes. I always get the chicken enchiladas.

My favorite restaurant for a nice evening out is BBs. The food has always good ever since they opened, and for a nice meal it is a good value. I love their salmon salad with pesto and cous-cous, but will often get the fish entree of the day.  I never miss the calamari, or one of their over-sized chocolate desserts. YUM

The Athens Cafe off of St. Augustine and Dupont is a hidden gem. I love Greek food, and it is reasonably priced, fresh and quiet. Just down the street from there is Sorrento's.....the best Italian food in town.  It can be crowded on Friday and Saturday nights, but their food is always fresh  and flavorful, just like in your own home.
